  1. Im here to supporting people with new starting. Let grow this together. I will reply back fast

  2. I am Stil using my 5D mark II, installed Magic Latern on it. It remains a very good camera with fine 1080p Video.

  3. Hey can you tell me the best camera I can get for under 450$ in the summer of 2020? I would truly appreciate an answer. Have a great day!!

  4. Really good video. Thank you! Please add the year of manufacture of the camera in such videos.
Though cameras don’t upgrade every year like smartphones do, a lot of things are improved in newer cameras like processing power / speed, connectivity options, overheating issues / non-stop video recording (especially for 4K) etc. So definitely going for a newer option is always better.

  5. Found this video a year and a half later and most of these cameras are way over $300 and most over $400. Did these cameras appreciate or something?

  6. I bought a Panasonic lumix gh2 because of this video. I now have three expensive lenses and I love it. The only bad thing is the adaptors and effective mm due to mirrorless. I have a 50mm, 250mm, and a 10mm. It’s a super cinematic camera, I am just shy about posting videos online of it. I’ve done a ton of kids photos and videos for their families with this camera. Love it.

  7. Sorry if you said so, I’m in the middle of a few things. Can any of these cameras record for any length of time? I’m gonna need some videos 2-3 hours without stopping recording.

  8. 2020 has tried to make a liar out of you thanks to all the damn price gougers. Looked up all of these and most have doubled in price. lol

    1. Most of them aren’t available now, and he is talking about pre-owned plus on ebay, there are different sellers so prices vary

  9. Hello, thank you very much for this video, I bought my first camera for starting my Youtube videos, really excited! I really wanted the Canon EOS M, but it is really rare so I bought the Panasonic Lumix GH-2. I have seen in many videos that the Autofocus of the panasonic gh-2 is slow and unpredictable, do you think it is possible to shoot videos for youtube with manual focus ? it would be face-cam, chat videos and trying-on clothes videos (so I think a little a bit of movement sometimes but not many changes)

  10. It’s hard because the stuff I write involves dialogue as well as fight choreography. So I’m not shopping for a camera to make me look pretty while I vlog. I need something solid and nimble so I can make something look good in motion.

  11. If I had a dollar for every time he said “back in the day” I’d be able to afford these cameras

  12. QUESTION!! I am a brand newbie!!! ONE BIG QUESTION…. Do I NEED a flip out screen on my camera with ‘this particular’ setup demo’d in this video??? OR is this feature not necessary? Again please remember I am a ‘newbie’ if this is a dumb question and am hoping I can set up a scenario with a desk mounted lower cost 1080p camera. Thank you!!!

  13. I’ve got T2i (550D) for under $100 with a Helios lens. My first real camera to shoot photos and videos. It’s been a bang for buck, that’s for sure!

  14. A lot of camera experts in the comments field. I’m just looking for the best beginner friendly option for my YouTube videos lol 😆🤞🏾 great video btw

  15. Ahh . The t2i is the one I’m most interested in and you missed the spec page! I appreciate it though, I can do further research myself . I’m just lazy . I’m really not complaining. This is a great video . Lol

  16. But what do any of these cameras sound like?

Most of these have really good picture at a realist price. But even 300 dollars isn’t cheap in my household. I just don’t want to get a camera, and sound muffled or low.

  17. I wanna buy a camera this week for making videos. I make music so a mic jack is probably important. I’ve always liked the telescope looking camera but you didn’t have any of those on this list??

Also I’m just wondering why the go pro didn’t make this list lol 🙂

  18. hi sir i want a camera for macro video so in above all what you recommend is the best ..plz select only one

  19. That’s such a neat party trick with the Pentax Q. That footage really did look like it came from an old 8mm home movie camera, especially if you add some film “defects” in post. Perfect for adding a scene or two to a larger movie that shows someone as a child in the past.

  20. I thought your guises was selling cemras and I almost bought it but then I realised that it is not cemras it is just guide

  21. filming is just kinda of a hobby for me I usually film skate sessions or travels and make a nice video out of them in premiere pro

  22. Went to ebay and couldn’t find any of the ones with a flip out screen for under $300. They weren’t that far off, but I was really looking for something around $250, so I figured a used camera would do. Nope.

  23. HI . I have a canon EOS 500D. Its an old camera. I would like to start a Youtube Video. Mainly for tutorial. Means the camera is fixed and I will also stay 1 meter infront of the camera. Is this still a camera I can use for good quality videos or not ? if not can you also recomend a camcorder. Budget is not that high. Thanks a lot.

    1. I’ve seen a few on ebay in the the $150-200 range. But not many because I keep seeing results for other M models

  24. great video! just wanted to say ty for following me back! i appreciate it! wanted to show support! Here to genuinely support all!!!

  25. Thank you!!!!! Everyone is posting about cheap cameras but they’re over 600 dollars. All I’m doing is posting video reviews of products I use and I love that you posted cameras for under 300.

  26. i just want a good camera to take videos for me and my family, like for birthdays and events we have together. we had a good old style camera but it’s not working anymore.

  27. If you’re about to choose between Canon EOS M and Sony Nex 6, which would you go and why? Tks for this amazing content!!!

  28. Im having problems getting a video feed over HDMI on samsung NX cameras, anybody knows a little bit more on that topic? thanks people!

  29. Just picked up a Canon T4i with a 18-135mm for 130 I feel super lucky to have gotten it so cheap- thanks for the video here amazing!

  30. Thanks bro, just came from a video with this guy talking about church friendly cameras for 4 thousand dollars…. yeah I got that money no worries

  31. Don’t underestimate the importance of a mic jack. I know you can work around not having one by using your phone or an external recorder, but it’s annoying and will slow you down. The GH2 is really the way to go on this list because it has headphone and mic jacks, just be sure to get stabilized Panasonic lenses if you plan on using the camera handheld. I’m sure Caleb would agree that audio is very important!

It sucks that it never occurred to Sony to include a mic jack on an APS-C camera until the a6300.

  32. 1. SONY NEX 5N
    2. Sony A5000
    3. Sony nex a5100
    4. Canon EOS M
    5. Canon T2i
    6. Panasonic GH2
    7. Panasonic GX7
    8. Samsung NX2000
    9. Pentax Q7

  33. You could have started out by telling us what is on that list every camera has, like what the hell is cold shoe?

  34. A Photographer camera I really recommend is The Canon EOS 70D
And a Travel camera good for the go is The Canon Powershot SX620 HS Good for travel.

  35. Thanks! I need so much help..You can see my videos and see what I mean. Thanks! I am going to watch your videos and start figuring this out.

  36. Would you recommend the Panasonic Lumix Fz-300 as an entry videography/still photography camera?,thanks in advance!

  37. Where did you happen to find the 8mm film camera? Will any film camera lens give you the same effect when attached to the Pentax Q7?

  38. You are only showing the Camera BODY / WITHOUT the LENS so your $300 budget is OUT the window when you have to spend an additional $500- for a decent lens or more before you can even take your first photo.

  39. Can you also compare an iPhone 11 Pro Max or equivalent to the SLR cameras? I also have a Cannon EOS Rebel T5, but there isn’t a microphone connection on that camera, so I’d have to record the audio track separately. Is there a huge difference between even the cheaper SLR cameras and the iPhone 12 Pro cameras?

  40. Hey wich one can I buy to film my iPad on my desk to make drawing tutorials and make reviews?! Please help, can’t decide?!

  41. Hey,
I was just wondering: I’m a photographer so I already have a modest lens collection, but was never interested in shooting video. Until now…
I’ve always used Nikon. Do you know of any decent Nikon camera that shoot good video so I don’t have to buy new lenses when going to another brand? 🙂 What would you recommend? Thanks!!

  42. alternate titles. “creepily watching girl try to build ladder with a bunch of cameras” “2 girls 1 ladder camera review addition.” “filming gorilla glue clumps while girl struggles to spread them” “my girl’s gorilla glue is crap too! filmed with a dozen different cameras!”

  43. my first “real” camera was the canon t2i…it did its thing and i only recently got rid of it…gave it to a friend of mine who got his cam stolen. I loved that camera and it made me quite a bit of moolah!

  44. SO SO useful and informative for me who has no background on brands, functions… Will definitely look into one of these to start off with 🙂

  45. You deserve a award for actually being very useful, THANK YOU!! I only started youtube today and you helped a lot!

  46. You can now get the Olympus OM-D E-M1 used for under $300. With firmware 4.0, it added the ability to shoot 24p and 25p in addition to 30p. It’s not a fantastic video camera, but it’s definitely usable.

  47. Hey guys, I need some help. I’m trying to start my own video podcast. I’m looking for low budget camera that has good quality. Any recommendations?

  48. Very tanks I’m really newbie, Can you advice one of thiese camera to do overhead video? Like tutorial? Thanks

  49. How can i put the videos from the camera to my phone, to edit on my phone? Because I don’t want to edit on my laptop it’s too slow

  50. What about cameras for Sports? I’ve been trying to use the Nikon d5100 i have but 25 fps for recording makes the footage look a bit weird

  51. I use a Canon M50 to shoot video interviews. I’d like to shot with a second camera simultaneously from a different angle. Can someone suggest an under $300 camera that will give me video footage I can seamlessly integrate with the M50 footage? I shoot in 1080p, 29.97 fps. 2nd camera will only be used for video… Thanks!

  52. i have a 12mp dslr want to get a sony mirrorless. i want the a7iii but it is way out of my budget. which camera should i get?

  53. The Sony NEX 5N is pointless. Why even have a screen that goes up but not enough to actually use it for vlogging! Fucking pointless! lol

  54. It’s a shame that a lot of these models are discontinued, can’t be found ‘new’ and are over $300 now. The two Canon ones seemed pretty good though, does the T2i have a successor?

  55. Thank you for also actually including footage shot from each camera in similar scenarios. A lot of people when using test film will shoot each camera in a different location with various lighting so it makes it really hard to compare them accurately

  56. I particularly liked the cameras that worked for him with no lens, I have never been able to do that.

  57. Hey,i wanna Buy a Camera but I’m kinda hesitated! Conon EOS 4000d or nikon b500? Which one is Better? I’m a Beginner and i Just Wanted to ask a Professional :))) so i’ll be so Grateful if you answer clearly

  58. Hello, I would like to know which camera would be better for me to take references to draw. Is it worth buying something like this?

  59. Okay, so I have an interesting question. I already own a Blackmagic ATEM HD TV productions switcher and all kinds of accessories and products to set up a little studio for my channel. Problem I’m having is finding an affordable camera (or camera’s, because I need three of them) and none of my existing cameras output a clean HDMI signal or SDI – to match the resolution and frame rate of the ATEM. Would you know if any of these output clean HDMI for this ATEM? I own a Canon SL2… some reason it does not output a clean HDMI signal. Please help.

  60. im from the old school and have went from the mini vhs tapes to mini dv to sd camcorders. this shit changes so much. are these cameras what replaced camcorders? i have a jvc camcorder but it makes gigantic file sizes since it was the only camcorder at its time to use 1080 and i just need to update to something newer. but i dont know if i should be looking at camcorders(do they even make them anymore?) or cameras. again im pretty old so back in the day the camera had one purpose to just take pictures. have they combined the camcorder into cameras now to just make it one unit?

    1. Yes i believe so……only cameras like used like camcorders is ones that film movies, but i think there are some cameras that are just like camcorders. Just gotta search it on google.

    1. Because for a camera like this, it isn’t. In the same way $20,000 isn’t a lot of money when the subject is a house. Or how $10 is expensive as f*ck for a chocolate bar.

  61. Very helpful video, thank you! Can I ask you which camera would you recommend for an 11 years all that want to shot YouTube videos

  62. you can find a canon sl2 now for around $300-$400 now and this camera is miles and miles better then the t2i or any of the cameras on this list. its crazy how much things can change in one year the sl2 in early 2019 was like $500 min now i see them for $300. so do you think maybie you can do an updated video maybie? any ways this video is great so thanks!!!

  63. It’s nice to see these entry level camera’s carefully reviewed on YouTube. So many review of the mid-level and high-end cameras already. But these entry level cameras are a much bigger market.

  64. I wanta budget camera to use for video podcasts. Will my rodecaster pro plug into these for audio? Also, do any of these allow for continuous recording or do they shut off after 30 min?

  65. Did he just mentioned 1080p with 24fps? Can someone explain to me please? I mean why do I need to pay $300 for this quality? I am newbie though…

  66. I have the t2i, but the screen isnt working, so I have to replace that. Funny thing, I got the t2i 10 years ago. The screen not turning on is a common problem on the t2i.

EDIT: I replaced the screen and it still didn’t turn on. I’m going to do more research on how to fix it.

  67. I wanted to first say thank you, I’m new to the game and wanted to help my daughter grow her YouTube channel, and your recommendations have been GREAT! Would you recommend the best budget 50mm lens for the Panasonic Lumix G7? I haven’t failed with any recommendations from you. Thanks in advance!

  68. Would love to know when older cheaper cams can be used for streaming with clean HDMI out. this is hard info to find out with out knowing each and every cam on the market

  69. the biggest issues I have with my current camera Canon Powershot elph 170is, is: 1. blurry images if things/people/animals are moving around, 2. horrible low light pictures and completely black when filming video unless you have a light somewhere, 3. camera makes wierd sounds when you zoom in that the mic picks up on. I like taking pictures of my son but he moves around a lot so his face or hands always end up super blurry. If you’re curious about that camera I have I would suggest going with something else.

That being said I love this video and going to definitely upgrade 🙂

  70. Best video on finding a budget camera for recording/vlogging

This is the only channel that knows the definition of ‘cheap’

    1. I have not had a problem with overheating on the a5000 (AVC codec 1080i 60 fields/sec), nor on my CX405 camcorder.  I ran across a report of, I think an a5100, when recording for over 10 min.  It was unclear if that was using the XAVC-S codec though.  I do not recall ever trying to record a clip longer than 5 min on my a5000, so maybe that is a problem, though I doubt it because I think I would have noticed the camera warming up that much during a 4 – 5 min recording.  I have also used the Sony CX405 1080p 30fps using XAVC-S for around 5 min.  It did not get very warm.  I don’t like to record for longer than 5 min in general.

  71. “in 2019, this list helped me decide for the best camcorder lense *scafe.shop/tbcl2019?ll* hope it helps you out too!”

  72. I got go to other city to study and I can’t take my equipment with me (specially, ‘cos I’m afraid that someone could stole me… so I’d been looking for low budget cameras, and this video where really helpful to me) I hope to learn something of this “downgrade” ‘cos I’d been shooting with a Eos 6D and a bmpcc…

  73. As a creator working on a budget myself, I suggest just rocking the phone camera and saving up until you can buy something that you are going to be happy with for a long time. I still use my iPhone 8+ and just ordered a Canon Rebel T5i. The quality of most modern smart phones is good enough for most video purposes, and I also think theres some value in the fact that you always have your phone with you so you’re always ready to pull out your camera and record something.

    1. The cameras on smart phones are great and getting more capable all the time. But they’re still no match for a DSLR or mirrorless camera when it comes to low light performance or shallow depth of field. Does the computational photography that provides fake shallow depth of field for photos work in video too?

With that said, don’t be afraid to work in a clip from a smart phone camera in with other footage. I recommend the Cinema FV-5 app for Android because you can adjust the frame rate. It’s a $5 app but worth every penny.

  74. “in 2019, this list helped me decide for the best compact camera *scafe.shop/tbc2019?Iz* hope it helps you out too!”

  75. I want to do photography as a hobby and so I need a camera. My dad is a photographer (Pretty much freelancing) but he lives up in Massachusetts and I’m down here in Florida. Anyways, looks like I’m going to need a job.

  76. Hey, are you sure that the GH2 can film up to 120mbps ? I can’t find this information on any specs detail of the camera. On the panasonic offical webpage, it says that it can do up to 16 mbps only. Can you explain me how to shoot at 120 mbps please?

    thanks for your video !

EDIT : it seems to be possible using a hack. Can someone help me get more info about this ?

  77. Well explained, starting to vlog got a d800 but that’s too big to handle, so this helped as I am planning to buy a new cam

  78. For new film makers you should still just start with shooting on your phone before you invest in a camera most new I phones can shoot in 4K at 30-60 fps

    1. That’s not the only parameters that matter in a video. Sensor size is a huge issue with smartphones and if a beginner wants to learn video the training wheels have to come off unfortunately

  79. searched the a5100 and nex-6 after seeing them in the video and the prices have jumped to easily over $300. I’m in Canada, but even on sale the A5100 was like $360 USD? In Canadian the thing is near $500, but w.e. The funny thing is that that’s also the same price for the Nex-6 xD. Gotta love exchange rates!..

  80. I film with the canon 550D, bought it for arround 150 euro’s (which is the normal price here second hand), but I have trouble with creating clear shots, there is always some kind of blur or it is not sharp, don’t know what to do any more.

And yes I have magic lantern, but I need some tips. When I see your shots they are all so clear and nice..

  81. ALSO no words for: NX300/ gx1 /Epl7 and em10 /G5 /a57,a37,a65,a55+a58/ G7x and maybe mark2/ Rx100 mark2 and 3. And I forget d5300 and 60d, 5T/3N. Most off it has very good words for video by Dpreview

  82. Hey everyone. I’m looking to buy my first video camera. My purpose is to film footwork drills and football workouts as well as routing running. My price range is $300 or less, any suggestions?

  83. I prefer smartphone like samsung note 10, google pixel 4xl or iphone 11 pro, autofocus much better than those cameras, better vid quality at higher frame rates. Small, light and easy to carry, you carry it everywhere you go.

  84. Best review ever…. I dont have a cam….. I really need one to try this end… I have only been using my phone cam. But a come is fun. If u have one you wanna sell or give away. I’m here sir!

  85. I want to start creating better content so I’m thinking about getting a dslr, but I’m not sure whether to spend my money on a drone or a camera. I film with my galaxy s8 which is pretty good for video so I’m not sure what I should spend my money on.

  87. Interesting. I had a Samsung NX-1000, but it died. I later bought an NX1. I use the NX-1000 lens on the NX1. The NX1 has outlived the 1000. I’m currently working on building a set of primes based on the Chinon video. I have the 28, with the 135, 200 and 55 on order. All due to be here in early November. I’ve been using the 28 on the NX1. All good so far.

  88. I loved this video. All the other videos I watched were talking about $400-$700 cameras and they had ‘budget’ in the title and to me, there’s nothing budget about $700 whereas this video ACTUALLY had budget cameras 👍

  89. Just got an nx3000 off Ebay for 185 plus shipping. I’m stoked for it to get delivered. Thanks for the great video!

  90. I don’t understand the pentax Q series lineup. What are the different models? What are the differences between them? Which one even is the latest one?!

  91. I bought my daughter a Panasonic GF1 and today was looking through some of her video footage and was honestly stunned at how good it looked and I paid $45 for the camera and maybe $60 for the 14-42. Even the sound was great right out of the camera. She had great lighting of course but I just wanted to add that in. Great video thank you for the suggestions.

  92. In the beginning of the vid I thought “what a generic intro”
But the VALUE that came after that…
    T-H-A-N-K UUUUUU 🙏🏼

  93. Thank you for making this video — I literally spent 2 hours looking for SOME kind of recommendation for a humble entry level camera for someone just getting started. All I need is something cheap that shoots 1080p — but all the other videos I watched were calling $800 cameras ‘cheap’ and ‘entry level’. It all felt very misleading, and frustrating for someone like me. So again, a big THANK YOU for giving me some options — although I’m not a fan of shopping on ebay because I’m in Canada and our dollar sucks — at least I’ve got options now!

  94. Thank you this was helpful. But sorry I gotta ask, I would like to donate some camera for my local church, I don’t have much on the budget size. But can you recommend using the NEX 5n, the kids will be using it to make video and take pictures of some events in church. If anyone can help. I would appreciate it.

  95. what lens you use on the nx2000 and wanted also to ask . how can i powerd it up for long recording and the recording limit . thanks

  96. It’d be nice if you update this or remake this video bc basically all the cameras are now over $400 lmao

  97. How dumb are you??? You know you can get the newest best camera for free if you go in with a glock and a mask and ask for one.

  98. As far as video goes the GH-2 is a standout but also most frustrating because it is only 720p but it is a very good 720. This is the camera that kicked off indie filmmakers using GH cameras thing. I still have mine but recommend spending a few extra dollars and getting the GH3 with its 1080p 60fps. The 2 is excellent, but the 3 is pure genius but is relatively cheap because of no 4K.

  99. Hi Caleb. I am slowly venturing into videography (photography background). I was wondering if there are point and shoot cameras that you could do a video on that you’d recommend for frugal filmmakers such as myself. I’m looking for feature to weight ratios, hdmi input (will use Feelworld T7 monitor), so on. Hope you could help me out. Thank you!

  100. 5:51 The exact face I make when I hear no flip up screen these days.

Although let’s be fair, if you’re serious at all you’re going to be using an external monitor.

I just bought the Black Magic Pocket 4k. No regrets.

  101. I dont mind not having hd. I want a sharp hq image and i wouldnt mind even using a vhs video camera. As long as it isnt too expensive

  102. I just upgraded to the Black Magic Pocket 4k, but can safely say that the Canon T5i has been an exceptional entry level camera, and surely the older ones are as well.

If you’re on a budget get one of these entry level cameras, and then research and invest in vintage lenses. Quickest way to really boost the quality of your shots, beyond just getting better yourself obviously, is to find a unique vintage lens.

I’m very partial to the Carl Zeiss Jena Pancolar 50mm, and you can find it for around $100 or so.

  103. I do have a question. By chance, is there any website that’s trusted I could purchase A higher tier camera that I can pay monthly payments? I’m interested in starting my vlogging channel but I’m anal on quality. Just don’t have a thousand dollars up front lol

    1. I have 2 EOS Ms, and you can easily nam a few of these cameras used for under $200. as for lenses and stuff, that’s another story… Check out MPB.com or KEH.com

  104. I have a Nex-5N and I got the camera, kit lens, flash, etc for $150, it was like $10 for a MD to E-mount adapter and spent $40 on a few Minolta lenses and for $200 I have both modern and vintage looks that most people can’t really tell apart from a much more expensive camera. In fact the only real frustrating thing as I see it is that it lacks the much faster autofocus of the later models but, I use manual lenses more often anyways.

    1. @Ruinemacil no he’s talking about USED sony cameras. Their owners can sell them for $1.00 or give them away free if they want, or ask as high as infinity dollars. Look up free market in the dictionary. We haven’t gotten state controlled prices of used goods yet here… And SONY can’t control it either. Even their new goods can be found much cheaper than MSRP in the grey market. And goods for which there is a shortage of supply or an increase in demand can have prices much higher than msrp. There is an invisible hand that controls it.

  105. The Pentax is reminiscent of the old 1970’s Pentax 110 SLR camera. It might be interesting to see if it allows use of those lenses; the 18mm, the 24’s, the zooms, and the 50 and 70mm telephotos. Yes, these were a 110 camera from Pentax. BTW, Minolta had two SLR cameras as well in the same era.

    1. @kay bhee well i have 3 computers. Good for 4k editing but overkill for viewing. i7 8700k 32gb ram n gtx 2080 and i5 8600k 16gb ram gtx 1080 and an razer laptop stealth blade 2018 i7 8650u with 16 gb ram and an external igpu, which has now a amd radeon 480.

  106. Just looking for a good camera to make videos with but the videos will mostly be long or I’ll be taking a lot of short ones like 20 minutes at the least up to several hours. Hopefully the eos m will be good enough?

  107. Instant subscribe after checking out your channel, great videos ! Thank you ! I need a camera for using with OBS, since i have to register my screen too . At the moment i am using my LG G7 smartphone, any opinions about an camera upgrade ? Also i’m interested if the camera can connect to an usb mic ?
